Itinerary
First day – Arriving in Brixen
You'll receive all travel documents about 14 days before departure. They contain the exact hotel address and further information. Please arrive by 6:00 p.m. You’ll meet your group and the guide. After discussing the tour, the group will go to dinner together.
Second day – From Brixen to Chiusa – 30 km, 1200 m elevation gain
Start in the historic old town of Brixen. The first few meters of elevation are quickly behind us. We gain altitude mainly on forest paths. After a short pushing section follows a nice trail. First views of the Geisler massif become clear. After lunch, best mountain bike terrain always up & down on the Keschtn path leads us to Verdings. In the afternoon we reach the old town of Chiusa and our hotel.
Third day – From Chiusa to Selva Gardena – 27 km, 1200 m elevation gain
A quick bike shuttle brings us up to Lajen. We start the varied day with a mostly uphill section. At the end of the forest path begins a pushing/carrying section of 200 m elevation gain. Once we reach Resciesa hut, all the hard work is forgotten. After the first downhill trail, the cable car takes us up to the Seceda where we can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Geisler massif. A great downhill to Selva Gardena is the perfekt final for the day.
Fourth day – From Selva Gardena to San Cassiano – 41 km, 500 m elevation gain
The Cirtrails above Grödnerjoch guarantee pure downhill fun. On different lines we can work on our technique. The built trail initially leads us back to Selva Gardena, later downwards to Corvara. In the afternoon, we experience a 360-degree Dolomite panorama as well as a great trail to San Cassiano. The Beat trails are one of the best trails in the region.
Fifth day – From San Cassiano to Fassa Valley – 32 km, 1300 m elevation gain
The Queen’s stage is calling. We start with 600 m of elevation gain on gravel. Cappuccino stop at Pralongia. Trail downhill to Arabba. A few hairpin bends are unavoidable on the way from Arabba to the Pordoi Pass. But for all that, the uphill offers many offroad sections, which shouldn’t be underestimated. In the afternoon, varied paths takes us down into the Fassa Valley.
Sixth day – From Fassa Valley to Urtijei – 48 km, 1000 m elevation gain
The cable car takes us up quickly in the morning. Through the Steinerne Stadt and at the foot of the Sassolungo massif, we reach the Alpe di Siusi on forest paths. Here we make a beautiful panoramic loop and then enjoy a trail or two in Val Gardena.
Seventh day – From Urtijei to Brixen – 34 km, 650 m elevation gain
What a final! We experience the Geisler group up close. Via Brogles Saddle, we reach the Funes Valley. The Sunnseiten-Steig awaits us with all MTB elements. The last highlight of this tour is the trail final into the Eisack Valley. We enjoy best South Tyrolean cuisine for our fare well dinner.
Eighth day – Departure
After breakfast, individual journey home.
My tip for Transalp Sella
„Anyone who was impressed by our Transalp Südtirol and is not afraid of some more steep ramps, will find exactly what they are looking for. The Transalp Sella offers even more trails and off-road fun. The cable car transfers leave more time and energy for many downhills. The trails are mostly in regions above 1.500 meters. This tour should not be underestimated. Full suspension, fun on the trails and solid technical riding skills are required.“
